    pev, "USD 50" means the stock trading at $50 (US dollars), and "USD 2" means the stock trading at $2 (US dollars) in your example. By the way, the commission rate is not $0.0005/share, it is $0.005/share (i.e., half a cent per share).

    Chewbacca, If your 1000 share gets filled with multiple partial shares on the same day, I think IB charges you $7.5 ($5 from November, 2005) even if you change the limit price of your order in the middle of the serial partial fills!

    It will be interesting to see what other brokers do in terms of slashing US equity commission. Historically speaking, there is a chain reaction of slashing commission waiting to happen among the competitive brokers.

    It does say $1 minimum. However, when the details of the new commission rates get starightened out in the next few days, we will find out if IB is willing to go below $1 for the minimum in the near future since $1 minimum was originally based on the old 1c/share commission rate.
