    Refco/Mac Futures typical deals?

Success rates are probably not too high these days. I've heard anywhere from 50-10% make it. Desk fees vary depending on the shop, but at most competitive shops, they are actually pretty reasonable considering what you get - TT, charts, bloomberg, reuters, possibly a analyst/newsreader, direct...

    1 Lot Question (Bonds)

10 ticks per day is extremely good for scalping bonds. You can make a lot of money making 2 ticks or even 1 tick per day, if you can do it everyday. Consistency is more important with scalping.

    Trader P/L 2005

Why are you so upset with the way he trades? Not real trading, LOL. I guess you're the authority to determine what qualifies as "real" trading. Who cares as long as he makes money? It may be a temporary edge. The smart thing to do would be to milk it all you can while it lasts. When...

IPE going all electronic - does anybody care?

I'm sure it'll still be around, as volume seems to be increasing. However, the exchange is very slow compared to the CME/CBOT/etc.

Anybody Prematurely Sever Their Prop Trading Agreement?

I think the laws differ from state to state. Going to another firm may be a problem depending on the laws. However, I doubt any firm could stop you from trading your own account. Mr. Kamikaze what state are you in?

    Holy sh*t!

That's really unlikely, otherwise they'd be able to come up with more accurate estimates of the payroll numbers, but they're always off by large amounts. Either way, lets say that does happen. Why would they wait until a couple minutes before the report to sell? There is really very...

tax question for futures prop traders

I'm sure there's a way to structure it. But the question is, are the firms willing to spend the time and money to do so when it might not benefit them much.

Here Is The Huge Bond Spike

Yeah sometimes they are different, but are usually within fractions of a second with each other. Especially on a number as big as this one. The bonds moved at 7:29::48s (CST). Bebe's time is exactly right. No way in hell that can be attributed to wires being different. Not a fat finger...

No. Not that I know of. Most futures firms pay on a W-2. Would like to know if you find anything though.

Here Is The Huge Bond Spike

Are you saying that the bonds didn't move prior to the release? Are you serious???!!! They moved at least ten seconds before the release on the newswires. The bonds moved first, shortly followed by the Notes, and then the Bund. They all moved prior to the release of the number. If I recall...
