Crypto is dead. Until it gets regulated.

We had this discussion over and over and over. So are Eurodollars, a dollar that is created and traded outside of the FEDs reach the currency of criminals, too? There is less criminal activity in crypto (abt. 1% of mcap) compared to the USD (abt. 5% of mcap). Regulation is not the issue of...

Praise to AMP they deserve it.

This way the broker would have to setup a server close to every single OMS - provider they offer which doesn't make sense regarding the commercials. There is a reason why you don't trade EUREX products through an US clearer and CME - Products through an EU clearer. To minimize latency, you...

    AMP platform advice?

Depends on how you define retail. For the average punter who gambles on the ES with a 10k account and slowly bleeds out or blows up once every two years solutions like TT are not viable. They should stick to the lowest cost solution because it doesn't make a difference, they lose anyways...

Praise to AMP they deserve it.

that's only partially correct. Every order needs to go to your broker for the risk check. So even the fastest execution venue will be turned to shit if your brokers server is a potato with wires

Praise to AMP they deserve it.

As mentioned in another thread TT is the best semiprofessional OMS you can buy off the shelf. Depending on your broker you can have a sub ms autospread execution which is only 1500$/month Not even worth paying for custom software unless you need additional connectivity or want to run your own...

    AMP platform advice?

TT is your only option here. It's the only platform that is fast and reliable enough to compete at the tick level. I've tried everything over the years but stuck with TT. CQG probably second when it comes to commodity spreads

    Calendar Spread Basic Setup Question

it does, but in the end it doesn't really matter. Your job is to sell overpriced, buy underpriced and manage your inventory along that. So if you're quoting 6 month wings at 20 vol bid/25 vol offered and someone lifts you, you buy ATM at 18 vols and reprice your offer on the wing to 27vols. if...

    Calendar Spread Basic Setup Question

you price according to the market and use the model as a crutch. You don't trade gamma and vega, you trade an option that is 2$. You need a model to guestimate how much the next up/down strike is as well as the near/far maturity of the same strike. How do you callibrate the model? Well, you...

    Calendar Spread Basic Setup Question

Just a question. If infinite gamma existed, you could buy it? How much are you willing to pay for infinite gamma? Risk/reward should be infinite as well...basically a no brainer, right?

Are spread trades immune to tail risk?

There is a reason the MAR/APR NG spread is called the widowmaker... Still, you have to stop thinking about tail risk as something that only can happen in outrights. Tail risk is an even that can only happen on a portfolio level, meaning YOU have to identify what tail risk means to YOU. If...

Are spread trades immune to tail risk?

Do you remember CL May 2020 settling at -37.63$? What happened to the guys who loaded up on "low risk" 1m calendars to arb a couple of cents of curve dislocation? If you were long May/short JUN for 10 contracts you would have lost almost 400k... If you trucked along for years with your spread...
