Using the new, Advanced charting, is it possible to get an Advanced chart to display ticks or is a 1 minute chart the best it can do? TIA! Jim

I'll second the kudos about the Envision flat panels...I have two of them under the glass of my trading desk and they're working great *but* no better than the 19" NEC CRT's that I've got on my desk. When I was designing my trading station, I thought about getting a couple of flat panel 17's...

I happy to read that I'm not the only "old timer" on the board. I got started after I moved to Hawaii and started "jonesing" for the action at the race track. A friend suggested I should check out the stock market and that's what got me started. I "progressed" into a very active "investor"...

I really like Realtimefutures' announcer, Ben. He's a hoot and at $125 a month, he should be. But based on cost, Xsquawk is the deal to beat at $50.00. Jim :D

I use Dow Jones. But even faster (by milliseconds sometimes) is the croud roar (via squawk box) at the Chicago Merc. Jim

Actually, there's an easier way. Check out "One Minute Trader" they send me a briefing each morning with this type of information. See Robert Tharp (rtharp) for more info about this...he occasionally writes commentary for this. BTW, it is free.

I have to jump in to mention that if you're trading the SPY's, don't use "smart" as your order *may* be sent to the AMEX, which is notorious for v e r y slow executions and confirmations. Talk about waiting and waiting and, well, you get the idea...:( Best, Jim

Well, that guy you reference may be me. But my point was that if we have to flag sales as short, then there should be a hot key for doing it, that's all. If we don't have to flag them, then I couldn't care less. However, another poster, in the same thread, wanted to know why that language...

Mike, As was mentioned in an earlier post, 5k really isn't that much. If I were you, I would concentrate on getting some risk capital together...might take you a while...and while you're doing that, paper trade as often as you can. Paper trading isn't a substitute for trading using $$ but...
