There is also an option to "load setting from server" in tws. I think if you want to transfer settings you can save them in one tws and load them from the other tws.

Another problem with this strategy is that the ssf gets marked to market daily so if you put all your cash into efp's and the value of your short ssf increases(with the stock) you could wind up paying margin interest for the mtm loss. Of course if the stock goes down you'll wind up with extra cash.

I think you are making this seem less of a problem than it really is. There have been times when I have resubmitted multiple times with no luck. Then when I select an efp with a lower return it worked fine.

My experience with trying to sell efps to earn interest on excess cash is that the one with the best return aren't really for sale. You get an error when you try to enter the order in TWS "can not value this this contract at this time". It doesn't matter whether you put the order in at the bid...

I found they had frequent serious outages ( about 1.5 years ago). They also do not support all the complex option orders you have at IB.

I'll take a shot - the call is .07 itm throw in the carry cost and you make up the difference but if I'm wrong do a conversion and make it a sure thing.

So purchases made on expiration day would settle the same day as assignments?

I use covered calls and frequently have assignments on expiration day. I was wondering when the settlement would actually occur. If I know my stock is being called away on expiration day can I make purchases on that day without actually borrowing money(assuming I have no cash)?

I see what you mean. It is not clear to me how this affects you buying power. I just took all the cash in my account( about 50% of balance) including from shorts and used this strategy and my account still shows a healthy sma balance and buying power. sma balance only went down by about half...

The only problem with the long stock and short SSF strategy at IB is they don't let you do it in an IRA account . This doesn't make sense since the let you write covered call in an IRA.
