A friend of mine traded at the office in Montreal for a few months and hated it... he said training is non existant and management was a joke. I don't know first hand though... just the opinion of one guy.

I would agree... I don't think it's the trading as much as it is the being glued to the screen... this is one of the main reasons I stopped day trading a long time ago. If you are going to smoke, try a cigar... nicotine is a relaxant. definitely have other hobbies, eat right, sleep well...

If there is a half dozen good traders then... the learning aspect. If you don't have funds then... the access to capital. If you know how to trade and have capital probably only negative factors.

I'm always around it... I will go golfing or run errands, or do other stuff but I'm all over it the majority of each day... I've never counted the hours but I can't even begin to tell you how many nights I've been up til 3am looking at charts, researching, reading etc.

Great post, I would say it's closer to 5-7 years... if you can last. I tell people to have at least 60 months worth of savings or a spouse with a great job!
