Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

LOL, wow, you are way off base. Do you even realize how difficult the course work is to become an engineer? Have you ever thought about why prop trading firms hire from the science fields (engineering, math, physics). These highly successful trading firms only look to hire people with...

Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

disagree, you have no idea how much time i put into trying to understand his teachings. there are millions of people with really good work ethic. heck, there are professionals out there, engineers, doctors, lawyers, all of which you cannot become with bad work ethics, that failed miserably at...

Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

yes, im fully aware of context, and therein lies the problem. impossible to quantify. so if its all totally subjective, then what good is it? Al is really good at telling you why a trade may work and why it may fail. guess what? anyone can do that. that tells me nothing about when i should...

Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

lol, name one. ok, good point. one of als most preached setups is to buy a "high 2" at the moving average in a "bull" or sell a "low 2" at the moving average in a "bear" so, i did backtest just that. i defined bull and bear using strong breakout (series of large trend bars) as my...

Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

to be honest, its really not that tough. i woke up one day, decided this stuff was complete garbage (no better than a coin flip), and that was that. it really wasnt all that dramatic although it may seem that way from my message board postings. looks like im one of the few who can admit...

ummm, and why the hell not? if al does what he does in his books, trading course and presentations and makes verifiable money. well why shouldn't i be able to do it? reminder, this is not rocket science, either you are trading in the higher probability direction or you are not. its that...

Perfect example of why Al Brooks is impossible to follow

yeah, i took the wrong path. i screwed up, i should have put 10k with an equity trading prop firm, and traded tiny size. instead i took the futures path and became another statistic and put tons of time into it. that sucks but i suppose its just destiny, how was i to know?

one of my relatives is worth millions and lives in a dumpy house so trust me, i know about that. all i'm saying is i see no success, i know of no success and i have no evidence of success other than stories online. again, the land of make believe. back to your restaurant analogy. i see...

Al brooks says breakouts provide the largest edge for a trader yet...

in reality, yes, it is killing it. if you made 100k say 3 years in a row, that is not only killing it, that is actually entering the realm of the elite. why? because the failure rate is so dismal, if you can demonstrate that kind of positive outcome, you're on top. sizing up, is the next step...

Perfect example of why Al Brooks is impossible to follow

that is the scary part, i have to look at myself in the mirror and say 'damn, you were pretty dumb for long time', then have to face the music and admit to yourself that you've been had. again though, ive never been a guru guy but i thought, well, you have to believe in something at some...

Perfect example of why Al Brooks is impossible to follow

There is something peculiarly odd about his method that touches on your point. You get this urge to keep going and trying because at the end of the day you say, well, i saw all of these trades, i just didnt take them i guess because i need to rid myself of fear. But its all an illusion. and...
