    Christmas

What was the original post? I assume it was some lame Christmas greeting which doesn't belong in the Option forums. Chit Chat is the more appropriate forum. :)

Cheapest way to hedge EUR and USD

To hedge EUR and USD you would buy both. To hedge EUR you would buy EUR. To hedge USD you would buy USD. :)

Options are the Biggest market: There is $1.2 quadrillion invested in derivatives alone.

They are probably using the absolute value of the option strikes to come up with such a huge number. Bought 1 GOOGL Dec 2015 790.00 call at $2.35, debit $235.00 Sold 1 GOOGL Dec 2015 790.00 call at $1.60, credit $160.00 IMO ..... The absolute value of the above transactions is (235.00+160.00)...

    Margin Violation Warning

Options are Non-Marginable Securities, but stock is. The stock is probably eating into your margin. :)

    VRX

Oldnemesis ..... Don't shoot the messenger. I'm posting what the market is telling us. You posted a 85/100 VRX debit spread for a debit of $573.00 - maximum gain $927.00 With VRX at $120.00 the short call has acted as an anchor - you get a base hit instead of a home run. The VRX 85 March...

    VRX

Much better than those $50.00 credit spread ideas that you post. But with VRX at $110.00 what lesson did you learn? It's something I always mention about the pitfalls of Debit Spreads and how long calls or puts are vastly superior to debit spreads. :)

Different types of Option scalping strategies?

These are my favorite three: Buy Low - Sell High Buy High - Sell Higher Buy F*n High - Sell F*n Higher :)

Thousand+ core cluster of Raspberry Pi

I'm sure they do ....... otherwise that would be a serious limitation. I think your project is a popular one for the Raspberry and there must be YouTube videos on it. :)

    Still puzzled about this trade

The issues with debit spreads are Time Decay and the short leg which act as an anchor. I recommend just buying the long option and forget the short option. I assume your position isn't performing as well as you hoped due to Time Decay. :)

Accurate option price in the morning

When it comes to expiry Friday and you are anxious to close a position it might be best to close it at market open with a market order. The next 20 minutes could be brutal. :)

Buying a call and holding through to expiry? (Questrade)

Close the option positions before expiry. No need to go through the exercise process, unless you want to be short/long the shares. :)

    extrinsic value decrease

If the stock doesn't move as you stated in the OP the options intrinsic and extrinsic values will not change. Any change in the options value will be due to other factors. :)

    extrinsic value decrease

Intrinsic and extrinsic are concrete values - in your example it's the bid/ask that would be the unknown. :)

Can someone please explain why this trade is going wrong?

Enter a minus number (-1) for the number of short contracts. Yahoo Finance then will update the P/L within 20 minutes or so. :)

Can someone please explain why this trade is going wrong?

IMO ....... The volume and bid/ask spread on Canadian options is not favorable to the trader. I would switch to SPY, QQQ or DIA options. Yahoo Finance is a good place to setup a free option paper trading account - no need to enter data into excel. :)

Is it possible to make >=20% expected geometric mean returns per year with options? Why?

I doubt it ....... You never know how the stock will react to news. Most "inside knowledge" would be worthless. IMO ....... The poker/option analogy has no place in the Options forums on ET. Chit Chat would be the forum for a poker discussion. :)

Who Exactly is Trying to Kill off Cash?

Not folklore - it is a fact. US Customs - How much currency can I bring into or take out of the U.S.? IMO ..... It best to cooperate with border guards. :)

Who Exactly is Trying to Kill off Cash?

Canada as no restrictions on the amount of cash brought in or taken out. But any amounts over $10,000 CAD have to be reported. :)

    Cancel Fee question

BMO Investorline doesn't have cancel fees. I think IB will refund cancel fees if the 2nd order is filled - but I'm not sure. Check with your broker. IMO ...... Any cancel fees is a drop in the bucket compared to the potential lost profit. Your initial view on the option was correct - but you...
