    Dogecoin lagging?

The 5-year chart for HOLO is a hoot.

    Is the crypto winter over?

I suppose some people might consider it safer having their wealth in an ETF rather than having custody of it themselves. Less risk of loss, theft, extortion, ransom etc? Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some people have died over the years and their coins have been lost with them. At least...

    Is the crypto winter over?

Yes but if people are just using BTC as part of a diversified portfolio then it's easier and more convenient to use an ETF. I wish we could buy BTC ETFs here in the UK but, in their infinite wisdom, the financial services authorities have banned them. Ironically, we can still buy crypto stocks...

    Which way? Gold.

Gold will probably go on a tear at some point but this could be years away based on its track record. 1970s roaring bull market 1980s bear market 1990s bear market 2000s bull market 2010s bear market 2020s lacklustre so far Maybe the 2030s. Assuming it hasn't already been...

    Blockchain is Dangerous Nonsense

What about trading BTC itself on an exchange? I think some even offer leveraged long and short derivatives. Then there are BTC futures based ETFs which have been around a while, plus the latest BTC ETFs.

    Blockchain is Dangerous Nonsense

^This^ As long as the volatility* doesn't dry up, it will remain a good candidate for trading. There's no need to marry it to make money from it. :D *It seems just as volatile now as it was 5 years ago, when it was a 10th of the current market cap, so there's no reason to think this will...

    Is the crypto winter over?

It's much, much harder than people think to beat buy & hold. There's no point trading in and out, unless you can significantly outperform buy & hold. It just ain't worth the stress. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.

Tether: What part of this balance sheet do we not believe?

Do you know why it is still so volatile? I can understand it with alts but BTC is the size of Berkshire Hathaway (7th largest stock in the world). Given its volatility and huge drawdowns, it could blow up at some point without any help from Tether. :D

I love the transparency of this market....

PS. if BTC does reach this level, and becomes worth more than the largest company in the world (currently a close run between AAPL and MSFT), that might start alarm bells ringing with the powers at be. Passing the psychological $100k mark would also generate a lot of attention.

I love the transparency of this market....

At the moment BTC is "only" the size of Berkshire Hathaway but if it does keep going up... Price......Market Cap....Comparable $40k........$O.8Tn.............Berkshire Hathaway $100k......$2Tn.................Google or Saudi Aramco $150k......$3Tn.................Apple...

    BTC vs crypto stocks

Comparing BTC with the VanEck ETF, which tracks a basket of crypto stocks, the volatility of the ETF over the past year is way higher. https://www.google.com/finance/quote/DAGB:LON?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwim2tyasf2DAxW3aUEAHQFVAtUQ3ecFegQIKBAX&comparison=BTC-USD&window=1Y Possible candidate for...

I love the transparency of this market....

Gold bugs have been banging this "collapse of the financial system/FIAT" drum for years. I fell for this post-2008 and missed out on most of the subsequent epic stock bull run. I'm now highly sceptical of anyone who claims to be able to foresee the future of the financial markets. Chances are...

I love the transparency of this market....

You say the price of Gold is suppressed/manipulated by paper Gold (derivatives). What's to stop the price of Bitcoin in future being suppressed/manipulated by paper Bitcoin (derivatives)? There's nothing special about Bitcoin which prevents it being swamped by a derivatives market (naked...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Here's the reality So what are the chances of the OP, or anyone, sharing secrets on a public internet site like this one... And, in fact, the OP states this in black and white (2nd to last paragraph)...

Which way? A Gold Timing exercise

With Bitcoin catching on in a big way (especially with the retail crowd), are precious metals becoming obsolete as investments? Given the lacklustre performance over the past 10 years, it's hard to make a positive case for holding them anymore.

Which way? A Gold Timing exercise

I've given up trying to fathom Gold. On the basis that it seems to go through 20-year bear/10-year bull cycles, we might get a new bull market before the end of the decade, especially if inflation proves to be sticky. But I could be dead by then. :D

Crude oil headed back to $100.00

Can't tell if you're just a troll. But there's a reason why you are free to express yourself here. Why you could even post under your real name without any fear. Can you guess what that reason is? I doubt the same could be said of someone living in Russia expressing negative sentiment about...
