Why scalping beats any other trading style

If the drawdown factor is considered, it is unlikely any other trading style can beat day trading/scalping. I've not found good information about the Sharpe ratio for different trading styles. I would imagine for a good discretionary day trader/scalper the Sharpe ratio can easily be more than 15...

Why scalping beats any other trading style

Hi Yoohoo, Thanks for your advice. Currently I'll stick to minute bars. I have a pretty good reading of market flow by minute bars. For range bars, I'm not so sure. It seems that my brain is more tuned to time.

Why scalping beats any other trading style

I would agree with you. I think this is the direct result of better entry. When the entry is good, the stop can be tighter and the reward/risk ratio can be improved.

Why scalping beats any other trading style

Yoohoo, Recently I switched from 5-min TF to 1-min/3-min TF and found my trading has improved tremendously. Better entry and much less whipsawed. Mark, Thanks for your insightful input. Definitely I need to study more on this subject if I want to trade market open profitably, especially for ER2. I've made the following observations on ER2 open: The prices during the first five minutes are quite noise and it is hard to see any...

How to trade market open for e-minis

Probably market open trading is the most challenging and reward part of index future day trading. You look at these days quite often ER2 have a strong move in the open. However I'm hestiating to take any trades since I don't have good clues or set-ups to deal with market open. How do you...

how to deal with shadows in e-mini day trading

During the last couple of days there have been many shadows in 5-min e-mini candle stick charts (S&P500, Russell 2000, Nasdaq 100). I've found it is very difficulty to day trade with so many shadows since it is easy to be stopped out. Is there a good way to deal with frequent shadows in day...
