"Obama's Top Ten Flaws" that will haunt him in Nov.

That's a valid complaint, Mercor. Of course there is the issue that skin color has zero to do with ability and age often correlates with age related dementia. McCain seems to be having real difficulties remembering where he was and facts from only weeks before...

English healthcare system starving elderly patients

Probably about the same, since those who become unemployed, have pre-existing conditions, and so on have no coverage for preventive care. Many elderly are malnourished, not only because of poverty, but also because of digestive disorders and lack of care. The fear of "communism" keeps...

Obama in Berlin: Walls Cannot Stand

Editorials are good too... rather than actually examining the policy positions predigested opinions are easy.

Well I agree to an extent -- they don't get preventitive care which would be cheaper in the long run, but they do get ER care at end of life, or when diseases have progressed. If preventitive care were offered, costs would be reduced. What's in your wallet?

Obama in Berlin: Walls Cannot Stand

And yet, if you go to his website and read his policy proposals in pdf form (it's long) it is far more intricate and detailed than McCain's website which is almost devoid of specifics. Compare for yourself -- McCain's policies are "talk to other countries", "raise the dollar", "put pressure...

English healthcare system starving elderly patients

No, according to Republicans that is immoral. It is somehow more moral to let people die slowly without care should they not have insurance or coverage. This way when they go to the ER for their primary care the public can absorb the entire cost in the most expensive manner possible and not...

I wish we had a Republican president.

"Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property in geometrical progression as they rise." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1785. ME 19:18, Papers 8:682

Read his quotes, rather than misrepresented snippets from people who are trying to sell you a discount philosophy: http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/jefferson/quotations/jeff1370.htm

I wish we had a Republican president.

That makes no difference. The founding fathers envisioned governments providing these services. To quote Jefferson himself: ""People generally have more feeling for canals and roads than education. However, I hope we can advance them with equal pace." --Thomas Jefferson to Joel Barlow...

English healthcare system starving elderly patients

As opposed to no care at all? Sounds pretty good by comparison actually. It's some sort of argument that says that the system that does nothing is better than a system that at least does something but is deficient in one area. Not a good sort of argument, though.

I wish we had a Republican president.

Really? Thomas Jefferson introduced a bill to introduce tax-supported elementary education for all.

English healthcare system starving elderly patients

According to another article in the (gag) Telegraph: "The vast majority arrived in hospital suffering from these conditions." Now in the US, by comparison malnutrition is dealt with by making it a "non-reportable condition." http://archpedi.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/abstract/139/11/1157...

McCain's Great Grandfather Owned 52 Slaves

People should vote for the guy who was born in the USA, not some foreign born weasel. (I love Republican jingoism when it's turned against them.)

Attack on Savage proof that all the $$$ for Autism is a scam

Mercor: ] If placebo effect exisits and phyiscal symptoms exist, then it may not be a medical situation but a behavior issue. No, Mercor, the placebo effect does not indicate that a disease is just in a person's head. It is well known that it has a real effect on real diseases of all...

Attack on Savage proof that all the $$$ for Autism is a scam

Mercor: "Yes, In many cases there are physical symptoms but not always." There are always symptoms as you can see in DSM IV, although not necessarily those that can be found given our limited knowledge of brain structure and function. "Either way it is amazing that in many drug trials a...
