I may get hurt for saying this, but did you look at TradeStation platform? I use TS for charting and as a backup brokerage, but they do have a habit of connection problems.

I would never trade or invest in Vonage, but I do use their basic service for an extra phone number and voice mail. Never had a complain with the product. I thnk their long term their survival does not look good because of the changing use of communcations not their quality.

You are not going to find an indicator builder in TS such as the one included in Amibroker. All indicators, show me's, paintbars, etc. must be coded in EasyLanguage using the built-in code editor. I have been using TradeStation since SuperCharts and 2000i and the programming of indicators...

I use a program called Beyond Compare http://www.scootersoftware.com/ to do file/folder compares and syncs. Not sure if it would work on an entire hard drive. You can try doing a simple windows search for modified files within x # of days.

Try scanning for consecutive inside bars or consecutive range narrowing. Much more rare and a real indication of low volatility situations.

I use it for EOD back-testing. TC2000 is around $250 a year. No problems. There Blocks subscription for EOD is free.

In addition to a trend filter, it is best to apply to a couple of time frames for added gain. I will only trade on my lower signal time frame if my longer frame chart shares the same trend direction.

Doesn't IB only charge $10 a month for tick-by-tick data? You will need a minimum brokerage account with them.

Many commercial software programs use yahoo EOD data. I have not noticed any limits when they are downloading data. Curious if anyone has any 'real' evidence of this?
