Another issue, IB requires certain amount of trading fees, or they'll charge "X" amount...($30/month rings a bell). Check their website.

Just to comment on intra-day charts...QT will only give you 10 days of intra-day (tick, 1, 15, 30, 60 min. etc.), charts, no matter who you use for feed (E*Trade, IB, IQFeed etc.). This is a QT issue. You can still get daily, weekly, monthly, that goes back to the '90's, again depending on...

CPA might be the right way to tackle this. Just to make sure your trader status is handled the right way. After that is set up, subsequent years can be handled by yourself, I suppose... A few dollars spent on a CPA might save you a lot of headaches later.

Been using the ATP platform for years, mainly for swing trading. Also some day trades, but no scalping... Fills have not been any problems, but daytrading the QQQQ (or other liquid ETF's/stocks) have never been a problem. Their charting is ok, you should also be able to get Wealth Lab...

QT/IB is most likely the "cheapest". However, if you're using another broker and don't want to switch, you might want to consider QT and IQFeed. IQFeed is around $25/month, (no futures). Also, QT is free with an account at : http://www.tdameritrade.com/welcome1.html

Ford Motors, with new leadership, will surprise...to the upside over the next 3-5 years... Most likely the US Gov will "help" in some form...call it what you want, socialist or capitalist, a little mix of these two and the outcome is a larger middle class; it has worked wonders in Japan...

Have used QT & IQFeed for years... Will stay a user of same, as long as the new fees for QT don't go through the roof. Also, support is important... Will not open an account at TD Ameritrade... Probably time to fund an IB account, and give Ensign a serious try. Congrats Jerry & Team!
