Is price action trading the most insightful(& most accurate)?

It is so funny to read this post because it is extremely accurate. 15 years ago if you told someone that you trade only using price action you were thought to be wearing a tin foil hat and practicing pseudo science.

I remember the joke about Elliot. Man #1 - Do you know how to start a fight? Man #2 - No, how? Man #1 - Walk into an Elliot Wave seminar where they are discussing a chart and ask, "What wave are we on"? and walk out of the room. Immediately you will begin to hear glass break.

Orbit, one more thing. Don't think of what you are trying to achieve with PA trading as predicting so much as reacting. You want to react what is happening on the chart at any given moment to give you the greatest potential for profit until you see a specific reason to react again to either get...

Is price action trading the most insightful(& most accurate)?

Orbit, if I may offer a suggestion to consider. I don't know what chart environment you are using but try CVB Charts (Constant Volume Bar) charts along with your candlesticks. This gives you the advantage of using volume but you have it imbedded in the bars themselves so it doesn't became an...

    Tick Data Source?

Sorry just saw this post. Are you still in need of data? I have over 20 years of most Futures data in ascii format and 5 years plus of CGQ.

If you had 50 - 5 gallon buckets in front of you and they all contained the same item, little metal balls each weighing 1 pound, but you couldn't look into the buckets to tell how many of those little metal balls were in each bucket, would you say that all of the buckets were equal in the...

It amazes me that in this day and age taking the moral high ground is so out of style. Whatever.

Would you care to share in what form you used volume, "years ago".

Some people can appreciate and understand that there are many profitable ways to trade these markets, like yourself. Personally I like to investigate as many as I can. Lots of times I can find parts of one strategy that can be applied to another or maybe just an idea. People that think that THE...

As you could possibly tell by my nickname, I build automated reactionary algorithms. I stopped trading manually about 5 years ago. After over 20 years of being glued to the charts I now spend my time glued to improving on currently running algorithms. I'm shooting for June as a retirement goal...

Murray, is the bar color solely based on the close of the bar? I ask because I've seen the close of an individual bar close down but the overall bias of that market at the time of the close was up and vise versa. Thanks for answering in advance.

I use bid/ask as well and would love to have an indicator built that would either paint the bars one color for ask bias and another for bid bias. Any suggestions would be welcome. That being said, saying time charts have more immediate value than CVB charts, without extensively testing them...

I guess the phrase "to better see the complete" wasn't correct. I should have said " to see a unique and balanced". I don't want to imply "my view" is the best view. If by "kiss" you mean to keep it simple, I am.

I would love to see someone come up with a constant volume bar that addresses the internal bid/ask balance or bias of each bar. If they exist, I wish someone would share. :-)
