My thought is that in order for a beginner or semi-beginner (who hasn't yet figured out his strategy) is that when joining a prop firm that:
* first and most importantly, you receive solid foundational chart training
* have a sincere and competent mentor
* your learning period with the firm...

Very good question! I think that's why I'm considering joining a prop firm that doesn't give out leverage buying power haphazardly. It makes me worry about the business safety of the firm.

I've been earnestly interviewing many New York prop firms and I must say that I've learned a lot within a few weeks.

So I met with their senior trader (his name was Gil Jo) last week and was very impressed by their coaching and training philosophy. I also learned some pretty interesting TA during the short time that I was there.
I especially like the fact that the office is very collegial unlike the other...
50 times..and 100 times leverage is irresponsible if you ask me.
Unless you really, really know how to use that kind of fire power.
Most traders don't and shouldn't even be offered that type of ammunition.
I would avoid those types of firms that offer that high. Ez to blow ur accounts...
