Hey Rockhead...the Treasury Bond futures trade in "ticks". The electronic market was 7 "ticks" off of the pit, during the payroll report on Good Friday. If the market dropped 7 "points" then you might have an issue. Perhaps you should have taken the $218 you lost and invested in a course on...
ideally you can get on board with a good prop firm (trading derivatives/options) where you can learn a great deal about the fundamentals of a specific market and the strategies involved in profitably trading those markes with leverage. there are several such firms in the chicago area. this...
They are a decent prop firm...Primarily Treasury cash and futures, curve trading...Not sure what they are up to recently, but Ray Cahnman is a smart guy...He telegraphed the move to the screens as well as the substatial value in CBOT memberships
If you are interested in strictly options trading it would likely be in your best interest to go to Chicago and try and get your foot in the door in one of the big options firms at the CBOE....That or you can set up an account at a shop like options express. happy hunting.
sorry for the confusion...I was more interested in whom you cleared through, what location you were trading in (remotely I imagine), and whether or not you had access to treasury cash as well as futures
