IB doesn't provide tick-by-tick streaming data?!

Here's what i read in a post: What does it imply? I'm a bit confused. How frequently does IB refresh the price/volume? If IB doesn' send all ticks, it seems we are getting inadequate market data. How does it affect traders who trade in a very-shot time frame (eg tick or...

    Automated Trader vs Manual Trader

Where're they? How do they perform? Returns Rate? Drawdown? Losing streak? I would like to know because I could see how a purchasable (but legitimate) system is better than mine. On collective2 (which seems to be a trustworthy website), it allows different system sellers to post their...

The most successful automated system in the world

One of the systems which still work is moving averages. I think moving averages, as a simple tool that everyone can understand and use easily, works great to catch mid and long-term trends. It's easy to understand why moving averages, even publicized, still work for more than 100 years...

    Automated Trader vs Manual Trader

Actually what're the requirements of being an automated trader? I'm not good at programing. :( Does it mean I couldn't create a porfitable and long-term winning system? Anyway, I have to try and see if automated system is viable to me.

Replay tick or 1-min historical data

Apart from Neoticker, is there any alternative? Does Tradestation has this replay ability (replay tick or 1min data)?

What stop-loss strategies do you use?

"Stop trading before it gets to bankruptcy?" Maybe it's already too late then.

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

Mental stops are good in the sense that it can avoid being stop-hunted. :) I'm thought of a special stop-loss order called timed physical stops. The stop-loss is executed if the price is below/above the target for a specific period. As a future trader, a few points/pips breakout is...

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

That's right. A stop-loss scheme is a must, no matter what format you take (eg mental, physical, hedging). I have yet to meet a trader who is 100% right all the time. Unless such a trader exists, it's silly not to admit to one's mistake and cut losses fast.

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

It should be "the market", NOT just price.

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

What do you mean by "add to's"? It's traditional wisdom that one must use stops to protect itself, be it mental or physical. Usually mental stops are said to be bad since this will deepen the endurance towards losses. They usually do not have enough discipline to execute their mental...

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

What market do you trade? For me, the market I trade sometimes move 50-300pips within a second or so. However I never get killed by all these surprise moves. Although they happen all of a sudden, the price will usually, if not always, issue forewarning.

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

Oh I see - scalping! How about if you're scalping, but all of a sudden, the market moves dramatically against your position?

    Boredom in Trading

Me too. :( Wavemaster, you are so naughty! (joking)

Do you use stop-loss orders at all?

Quite many people don't use stop-loss at all, be it physical or mental. I'm interested to know why. :)
