I feel like spread betting is comparatively less risky and can be a great trading strategy. I'm more of a long term player but I have used spread betting to turn a profit once or twice in the past.
I don’t think it would be right to compare offshore brokers with regulated brokers. You cannot expect fund security with offshore brokers as much as you can with regulated brokers. At least, you know where to complain in case anything goes wrong.
I prefer relative strength index, moving average, MACD, etc. I've been using some low spread brokers like XM and Fxview to go with my strategies and indicators.
For a beginner, indicators can be a bit tricky. You’re right with the invisible indicator thing. I started using them after a long time of trading and now I even have some favourites.
Yeah the success rate increases if we’re able to find the turning points on the longer time frames, and then switch down to shorter time frames just to fine tune the entry.
There are quite a few actually like fxview, easymarket, xtb that offer competitive spreads and low margins. So, if you’re trend trading, you better keep the position open as long as the trend continues. Apply stop losses to safeguard your profits and reduce the losses.
