I trade for a prop firm in NY and I also reside in another state. My accountant says that I have to pay NY income taxes and the income state taxes of the state I reside in? I can't imagine that this is true? opinions?

Because I am familiar with the sterling platform and can somewhat get by w/ the Portuguese language, I'm going to go to brazil for a month or so and see if I can hook up with any prop firm. Anyone know of any contacts? people? places? etc
