    I developed a successful system ... maybe

bridenour I think a 35% drawdown would be very hard to handle. Knowing nothing else about your system, it is hard to offer anything constructive. Personally, I would be willing to trade a smaller total return for a milder drawdown.

    KING KELTER system code

    The only problem is with the calculation of the moving average. Here is the corrected line. movAvgVal = Average((High + Low + Close)/3,avgLength);

    Need autotrading platform easy&reliable

I started out with Tradestation. I was not happy with some of the dumb stuff about them, like having to have seperate accounts for futures and forex, and tried several other packages. I went back to Tradestation because the total package of EasyLanguage, integrated data access, and integrated...

Let's Talk About How Goldman Makes Money; 1 in 6 in USA Unemployed or Underemployed

Great article BuyLoSellHi, thanks for posting it. It seems that many people still do not comprehend, or do not want to comprehend, the value of reasonable and wise regulation in a free market economy. What happened in our financial markets is analagous to taking away traffic lights from a...

Fast food places now getting applications from people with bachelors degrees

About 20% of workers are employed by government, including federal, state, and local government jobs. While there have been a few isolated layoffs of government workers, there has been no significant net reduction in total government employment, as small reductions in one locality are more than...

Is Ninja/Zen good enough to win in Futures?

I had problems with another popular software/broker solution so I switched to Ninja-Zen-Mirus in mid-July. My system scalp trades the ES and I have been very, very happy with Ninja-Zen-Mirus.

NinjaTrader vs OpenQuant for automated trading

I switched from Tradestation to Ninja in July 2008. I use Ninja with Mirus and have had great results with absolutely no problems. My automated strategy runs completely unattended 24/5 trading the ES and is nicely profitable. I highly recomend the Ninja Zenfire Mirus combination as rock...

What's up with ES at 8:30 EST?

Well I thought this was a site for experienced traders but perhaps I was wrong. There is news constantly, some good, some bad, usually the market has discounted the news and trying to play the news is a coin toss. That is why it is a game for the inexperienced retail trader. Small retail...

Whats up with action at 8:30 EST?

Usually reacting to news is a game played by the retail trader, not the big money hedge funds. The amount of volume involved is much too big to be small retail traders. Of course, it could be possible that the hedge fund gurus have been brought down to the level of playing news stories, but...

What's up with ES at 8:30 EST?

Whatever it is you are sniffing you might want to close the cap now and go to sleep. Things will seem much clearer in the morning.

Whats up with action at 8:30 EST?

(I posted this same message on the Automated Forum, not knowing which is best to find someone expert on this subject.) Has anyone else noticed that the volume and volatility spikes at 8:30 EST are getting bigger and bigger? This weird behavior extends beyond the ES to the YM, NQ, and the...

What's up with ES at 8:30 EST?

Has anyone else noticed that the volume and volatility spikes at 8:30 EST are getting bigger and bigger? This weird behavior extends beyond the ES to the YM, NQ, and the premarket trading of Spyders, Diamonds, etc. I always thought these premarket spikes were some form of program trading...
