Thank you @bone and @Real Money. I've done lots of research on the different types of spreads exchange traded, synthetic, intra, inter, etc... I even have access to a professional grade execution platform with an Autospreader. What I fail to understand is what strategy do most prop traders...

I'm fascinated by futures spreads, but I'm so lost in terms of what strategies to research about. Everyone just talks about seasonality. @bone you always say it's better to swing trade but how? Looking at technicals, trend following, mean reversion? Not a lot of info out there.

I'm a little late to the party but instead of a stock table why don't you use an instrument table. It's more flexible. You can then have a type column with Options/Futures/Stock. Also I would have a parent instrument reference in that table in case of an underlying.

What do you mean by buying hedged? Are you hedging by selling a back month futures contract?

The edge is not in the credit spread. If that was the case we would all be printing money selling iron condors and strangles. The edge is usually in the mean reversion of implied volatility.
