I traded options and my size was pretty big since I double downed twice. Bought BA calls, and it dropped.. So I doubled down. Etc... Then I jumped in nflx earning puts, expecting it tank after earnings... Stocks did open red but my puts also lost money due to time decay and premium lost...
Took me 8 years to build up 50K capital to be in market... Burnt 15k in just a week... I am still hurt at this point. Big difference when papertrade vs real. Strategy is the same... But I am way more relax when it's papertrade
I could not believe how fast money can be burnt in real trading. Lots of good advices in here. I am gonna take it very slowly now .. Even slower and trying to find a strategy that works, then implementing it with risk management. Will see
I have been papertrading two months but not daily.. More like one trade every two days. This is a lot harder than I assume. I thought I was consistent but when it's real money, I started to sweat out and did not follow my rule. I tended to add and double down my position.. A lot of things too...
I did well in papertrade, but when I switched to real data, boy I lost nearly 15K my first week. So I stopped. .. Just wondering if anyone here experienced the same prior to become profitable? What did you do then after such situation. I completely lost confidence in myself with this market.
Wow , I am immersed with the amount of responses/tips from traders here. Hopefully, someday when I become profitable...then looking back at this post and have a smile. Now back to chart reading/backtesting.
