i am using a combination of tick and min charts. As many other traders i use Fib numbers on my charts, but i believe it makes no difference. Play around a little with the tick count and see what works best for you. I use 34 t, 55t, and 133t as well as 3, 5 and 15min. hope that helps...

I think they have very reasonable rates, and a lot of people/brokers are using J-Trader. I am actually considering myself moving to them, since they are really cheap!

yes, i use them for candlestick patterns, i think it is a good site for that, as well as for general market overview each evening. Run some Evening Star patterns on a daily chart and watch it develop, you will build good confidence! Good Luck!
