    Cybertrader

Clears it up anyway :) As I said I agree with you anyway in that it is still a pain in the butt to get short using Cyber when the stock is already moving down. It's hard enough as it is with the rule let alone having to fight the software!

    Cybertrader

So are you saying that if I were to offer a stock out at .01 above a down bid Cyber would reject the order? Or are you saying I can do this, but then when the bid goes to a lower price the original short above the bid will be cancelled and I will have to re-enter the order? Either situation...

    Cybertrader

THe IB functionality of following the bid at .01 above is the same as what ARCA does. Doesn't Cyber have a direct connection with ARCA? If so you should be able to accomplish the same thing by offering the stock (short) via ACRA. The only way this would not work that I can see is if this is...

    RealTick Hotkeys (Bugs)

I've also had many issues with the hot keys in 7.4. THe worst is I have keys to discount my sell or put a premium on my bid for fast moving markets. Many times when I go to use these keys, they simply revert to the current inside bid or offer. THus I try to sell below the bid in a tanking...

Realtick SHORT order execution , question...

Can you believe we used to actually get a 72 share partial on a 1000 share order via ISLD, cancel the remaining order and re-enter it at a new price, get another partial and do it again (market moving away), and pay $23 each time in the process! Moreover, we did not really think about it until...

Realtick SHORT order execution , question...

I use ARCA all the time in exactly that fashion. And when the occasion arises whereby a big time sell-off is underway I will use that sniper method of waiting for that bid arrow to go up for a split second on an ECN up bid and then fire off a short sell below the bid where there is more...

Realtick SHORT order execution , question...

FIrst to SallyBoys question in his first post about ISLD allowing to short a bid uptick...yes ISLD will let you do that as it should. YOu should only get the "order must be .01 above the bid" (or what ever it says) warning message if you are shorting at the bid on a down bid. If the bid is an...

Realtick SHORT order execution , question...

Nasdaq shortsale rule says that you "cannot effect a short sale at or below the bid on a bid downtick" therefore, though you will have to work to see this in writing anywhere, there is nothing that says you cannot short below the bid if the inside bid is an upbid. This is particularly relevant...

Sorry Gene the phone is working again so please feel free to call. Thanks to Tony Oz for the kind words as well. And thanks to Steve72 for posting links that had been lost in the daytradinguniversity.com seminar a few saturdays ago. I was unaware that folks were looking for them and...

Anyone know if this is the same for RT3 and/or what the symbol is for the minis in Realtick? I have not tried to chart them before.

    Daytrading University's Free Seminar

Sorry I just heard about the questions on this thread relating to the links posted in Daytrading University's seminar last Saturday. Apparently they did not work for everyone and I have no idea why. If I had known I would have reposted them at the time. Meanwhile, they have been re-uploaded...

    SelectNet

Close but.............. Specifically, a Liability order is an order that is sent directly to a Market Maker via Selectnet that matches the MM's quote (ie same/better price and no more than his quoted volume) AND, the MM is not in the process of already filling a similar order and/or changing...

    Realtick + Hotkeys

I use the RT hotkeys almost exclusively. The latest version of RT as some additional key features for Hot Key set up, including a "bump" hot key that lets you change the price of a live order (as the market moves away) by hitting one key. Regarding your NYSE comment, I am not sure what you...

Nasdaq is screwing us all with these new Soes fees.

You have to be kidding me. IB commissions are 1 cent per share and that INCLUDES all pass thrus? I find that hard to believe as many DAT brokers charge .007 cents for ARCA pass thrus, etc. That would leave .003 cents per share for IB?!
