    What do you pay? Help

What platform do you use, and how much are they charging you? All in or + clearing? What kind of access. (ecn, exchanges, regionals,mm's etc )Average monthly volume? I have been thinking about putting together a new frontend and would like to get some revenue projections to help court...

    Listed extended hours short rules

Depends on your perspective... Your clearing firm may be a member of the nyse, thus follow the rules of the NYSE no mater where the execution comes from. (same goes for Amex) Execution.. I believe the ecn's and nasdaq follow the bid test rule, for listed equities that are not regulation...

Are Level II really needed today?

Lev II and NYSE open book are a must if you trade large volume. I trade 1 to 3 mm shares a day, so in my world it is needed. NYSE Buy/sell on open orders

Yes NYSe or AMEX, but note if you send a short mkt on open, and it does not open w/ a + tick your order gets cxl'ed. If you would like the order to go live even if the sock opens lower, do not mark it for the open.

    All or none order

some folks do if they get hit w/ ticket charges, but some times not a bad idea because the ecn's charge a higher rate for odd lots than round lots. Not really related to best x in a liquid stock... If it is listed and on an exchange it will not hit specialist book, and will slow your execution.

What's the best way to get an order executed

China, cost is dependent on what you use to trade. Generally ecn's are a post / take liquidity model, where you get a rebate when you post liquidity and pay a fee when you take. Most ecn's charge a higher rate if the have to outbound you order to and exchange or other liquidity pool. Alot of...
