Basically I feel you have to consider both equally. Sometimes a range, level, or pivot based on the full session is important, other times not so much. Look at the high today so far ... R10 off pre-mkt low and nice secondary channel high off pivots from Friday's low and today's pre-mkt high...

We've never left the range of that 1st 15min bar post-NFP report, now 28+ trading hours afterward. Being this close to that bar's high, and with higher lows, it should break to at least 24. But what'll it do first is the question I have.

JH touched on entries, which are just as key as the stop & target, so without the entry rules we really don't have a complete system to properly evaluate (despite the apparent issues with R:R). Also, (may have been mentioned already) - obviously there really is no such thing as "no stops"...

Assuming for a minute that you are serious: 1) how long have you been using this system? 2) what's been your worst drawdown? 3) what's been your longest time in a trade? 4) are you and emg the same person? :cool:

The crazy thing is even that other day you mentioned (I believe it was 11/21) had a good 12pts range when you include overnight/Globex. Yesterday's Globex was <10 (9.75), which is highly unusual, especially for the last day of the month. In light of that I would guess that Monday or Tues...

I for one do consider the 9am open defined and I actually much prefer trading the CL open over the ES. Don't know the answer to your question #2, sorry.

I agree, in the context of having a proven profitable strategy. And I think it's funny that when Douglas describes all the things traders do to manifest a lack of this mindset, what he's really describing are traders who have no edge. So I feel like his target audience is really very very...

And 65.00 makes it a nice round R25. Nice entry imho. Will probably pull back to the broken down-TL on the hourly, minimum.
