how come for quick round trips ram is not important ? well maybe you mean you won't have to track many positions ? even so, you need enough ram to make sure Windows is not swapping to disk (which is way slower than RAM) and will make your quick round trips, a little longer ..

I would say this : your goal should be to trade with automation. it does not matter what API you use. Try the more direct approach imo. I was only stating a fact. Similar to : there are good sedan cars and luxious cars and even sport cars. All good and will drive you from A to B. However...

the simple API changes everything indeed. no MFC etc. however, don't get fooled, high end applications, specially hosted ones are using the very sophisticated API.

there are all kind of data providers. if you are not happy with one, try another one. flaming won't help and there are rules about that. btw there are also rules against promoting software and not paid advertising.

I have a question Serge, if hosted in NY, can an API Client monitor 500 stocks using level 2 ? I bet it is not possible remotely, but on your local network, it should.. is it ? thanx
