    The Foresight Thread

That was essentially the reason for my breakout trade question a few days ago. Very often one does not get a retracement or one would be able to bank some points on half of the position. In terms of the behaviour of breakouts and reversals itself, I believe you are very rigid. So if they don't...

    The Foresight Thread

The thing is that also from Fortydraws posts I got the impression that specially immediately after the open the breakout trade of a range oftentimes offers opportunities. What I think is that it is maybe all about the defintion of a retracement or reversal or using even shorter bar periods. But...

But even if price just cuts through them as if they were not even there - because there is no interest anymore, or the other side is stronger - don't they keep their meaning as a reference level? Like 30 in the example above, where one couldawouldashoulda initiated a breakout trade. Thanks by...

    The Foresight Thread

You are right, I'm sorry...should have read more carefully. As the "correct" drawing of zones of congestion is pretty vital, this thread is another great one in terms of context...

DB, the range you've drawn is pretty tight. I would have drawn the lower limit at 30. Is there a specific reason that you did not?

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

Wow, thanks a lot for this whole post 40D... That is absolutely something that seems to be able to release the handbrake. But as you mentioned later this has to be done in combination with the observation of the range. Doing especially this over the last few weeks brought me to another level...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

With ETFs etc. there is of course a good variety of instruments one could trade longer term with the necessary volatility and risk control. But obviously daytrading has its advantages - if one is able to handle the circumstances. What seems to be "swinging in the subtext" of your post is that...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

That is absolutely true. But you mean that more in terms of observation and not execution? In terms of the latter I would still prefer the 1m. With the reference of the ranges it all seems to get more and more obvious in terms of trading the extremes - or even to see in quick and sustain way...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

Well I do. Due to other jobs I can not do it every day. But if I'm there I watch it real time. I should add that I should less sim trade it and do more backtesting/replaying...but you know that kind...quantity in terms of screen time is not the problem...:-)

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

Actually as I'm still testing all this I use 5/15 and the 60m. As I'm doing all this also for the european morning the overnight/asian session range - which can be quite tiny - has its "value". For today all of them where helpful as price was ranging in between yesterdays high and low and you...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

Yes, thanks. Actually I know them already... Might make more sense now... Sometimes it takes a decade or so...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

If someone - and there are obviously a few - is searching for "the secret/missing ingredient" to "complete" this approach they should look at the ranges mentioned by DB so frequently. I'm guilty for wandering around in the dark to nowhere land as well, but if you look at them then it becomes...

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Thanks DB, in terms of the narrow ranges I meant it more in terms of a bounce from the outside not a trade from the inside. The reason for my question I try to focus on the really important levels and can draw "conclusions" which have a meaning. So kind of that what you just mentioned a few...

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

DB, in terms of the ranges, a hypothesis would be: The narrower the range, the more trades and the more agreement or "equilibrium" have been found. And the more of that (trading at the end), the more "magnetic" this range (and their extremes) can get, if price is unable to get away from that?

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Setup in terms of AMT? For me the determination would be more about the location where a "setup" (reversal, retracement more in terms of SLA) could be expected. Did I understand something deeply wrong? So this is not so much about terminology, just about the correct understanding...
