If you were able to get a sale at 150, why doesn't it show on the Nasdaq list? What you say happened to you is exactly how I would expect things to go. Did you sell right when you saw the guidance number may I ask?
Damn, the link doesn't show the right page. Basically the traded price of Apple goes instantly from 157.65 to 144.95 and then continues to drop from there.
Thanks again easyguru. Looks like I now just need the fastest newswire I can get. I heard someone say that Reuters was the fastest when it comes to equities. Faster than Bloomberg actually. Is that accurate? Is going with someone like PRnewswire going to get me the same speed for less money...
CSCO bombed last quarter because they didn't up their guidance which is what the market was expecting. They then went on to blame the state of the economy in the conference call which sent all tech tumbling.
Please though, lets try to keep this thread on topic. This is not about whether...
I appreciate the advice and after a few trys may end up taking it. However, do you know the answers to the above questions? Do you know where the newswires get the info and who the first to receive it is? When the companies release their earnings, where is the first place they are sent?
Well, say I was trying to trade the earnings of companies I follow regularly but did not want to get into ahead of earnings. Companies I can comfortably predict what the earnings will do to the price. Where is the fastest place to get the numbers from? Is the company website faster than the...
So does anyone know of the fastest way to get these reports? Is the company websites press release the first to get the info usually? Is that where the newswires get the info that they report?
Hey easyguru. That was an absolutely phenomenal reply. I learned a lot and I thank you!!!! I only wish I could learn more things like this on a daily basis!
I'm currently of the opinion that these gambling comments are just incorrect. Betting BEFORE the numbers are out IS gambling. Betting afterwards is just good sense. A company reports blowout numbers, it's stock will probably go up. This is far less like gambling than following a trend that could...
Are these news sites faster than getting the press release from the website? Who's usually the first to get the info?
Thanks for the replys so far everyone. To those who suggest that this is not a good idea, I generally agree. There are exceptions sometimes for me though, and RIMM was widely...
Today I really would have liked to trade on RIMM but I didn't know where to quickly get the EPS numbers right when they were released. I thus waited for cnbc to show them which took too long and the stock had already gained over five points. At this point, I didn't know when it would stop and...
