Are there any other options besides Genesis? I don't like Genesis software (Laser).

Are there any places where you can: * Open an account with a group in a retail firm * Get 10-1 or more intraday leverage * Not need any licenses (series 7, 55, etc...) * Are SIPC insured * Have a $10,000 or less deposit requirement?

I had a good laugh when I read this interview (http://www.traderbulletin.com/stories/storyReader$770); particularly the line: "price improvement = front running." This is one of the guys that blew the whistle on NYSE specialist practices. Unfortunately most of what he says is true.

I had this problem with my ColorGraphics multi-monitor cards also. With them, you had to turn off the multi-monitor software for the windows to load in the right screens. For Colorgraphics cards, the icon for this software was in the Windows system tray.

I agree, wouldn't your trades have to go through some sort of automated screening process first? How do you prevent traders from assuming abnormally high risk positions, BEFORE THE TRADE GETS FILLED? On the other hand, isn't this all academic? One more router hop and a buying power...

It kills me how people expect great customer service when using a niche software package for $40 per month? If Ravenquote has 200 customers that's only $8000 in revenue per month. Try paying for salaries, overhead, advertising, and support with $8000 per month--and having any profit left...

For traders at professional firms, OTC options are used (created) with "zero" slippage. The cost is usually .025/share plus interest.

For those interested... From the NYSE web site: "NYSE Direct+ offers rapid, automatic execution of limit orders up to 1099 shares." It is a slower than an ECN (2-3 second fills versus 0.2 second fills) but it is still automatic-execution. The specialist CANNOT stop Direct+ orders when...
