The NYTimes link appears to be down. I haven't read the proposal, but if they are trying to protect the "small investor", wouldnt' this tax still have a large effect on Mutual Funds? The tax/expenses would be very large. No one would ever have an investment that produced tax efficient growth...
The book you linked is the one I'm talking about. I think Natenberg is great when it comes to Volatility/Pricing/etc. I think there are many others on this board that would agree Natenberg's work on Volatility is excellent. Perhaps there are some that would strongly disagree too - I find that...

Not sure if Strangles and Straddles are in there....it's been a while since i've read it.
The first 2 are favorites of mine. I highly reccomend them. Natenberg is also a must.
There are many strategies covered including straddles, strangles, and ratios (among others).
I have not read the first two. Ron knows his stuff though.
Jeff Augen's books are fantastic. I highly reccomend them (and did earllier today on another thread).

Out of those, I would probably go with the 435 as well. I have no experience with Vista (nor do I want any). ATI HD - I have no idea about this one. Before I started trading a few years back, I used ATI and it was fine for what I needed. My needs are just different now.
NewEgg is my site...
Personally, I had issues with ATI cards. I've always built my own computers.
Currently I'm running with a motherboard that has built in video ( 2 ports) and I have a second NVIDIA card for another 2 monitors. Works like a dream for me.
