You guys like Investors Business Daily????

I enjoy it, but the daily subscription is a little too much (i.e. too frequent). I just go up to the bookstore of gas station most Saturdays and pick up the IBD Monday edition. You get the new IBD 100.

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

Jim, I thank you for your response and expertise here. I went ahead and tried to close out the position to see what would happen (simulated account, of course) and I showed a loss at the realized P/L. This confirms what you're telling me.

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

I may have missed this being discussed (I read most of the thread, thanks all for keeping it productive), but I've set up a couple of EFPs in the simulated account to see how they behave. I started a BA DEC07 EFP (long stock, short SSF). I've noticed from time to time while peeking in on it...

41 million Americans can't make ends meet

Oh lord, here comes another article about the poor, poor. I hate to sound calloused, but I don't know a single person in financial trouble who didn't bring it on themselves. I know this is not always the case, but I believe "bad luck" is the exception, not the rule.

SBUX - Just bought 100 contracts June 30 Calls at $0.50

So you're still holding the JUN contracts that you bought at .50? Ouch.

    Directional spreads

Hrm. I might be confused. For example, take a long calendar on MSFT with the 32.5 JUL/OCT calls. If the IV falls, the value of the long calendar goes down. Are we talking about the same thing?

    Directional spreads

Actually, a diagonal or calendar will get smooshed (technical term) on an IV crush. But the bull call and especially the butterfly certainly help in a falling IV environment.

    Windows Vista

I don't understand why it's that big of a decision. Worst case, you can dual boot or run Vista in a virtual machine using Virtual PC 2007 (free). Try it for yourself, don't take our word for it.

    Windows Vista

Not true. ToS is Java based and they had Vista specific problems.

    Windows Vista

Been using Vista since late November with very few problems and overall pretty pleased. I use IB TWS and QuoteTracker as well as ThinkOrSwim. All work fine now (although ToS didn't until about January).

Bought $65 ATM Puts on Celgene

And you think that this will correct itself in the next few weeks? Seems like you haven't given yourself enough time to be right ... <shrug>
