I hear ya, I have the same problem. It sounds crude, but I have been using a 5 minute rule where I don't play with my stops at all. Its not perfect, but it works alright.

Matcha, What kind of orders are you using to enter? Learning to enter using stop limits helped my trading a lot. Especially if you are trading patterns. Putting stop limits a tick or two above/below the pattern keeps me out of a LOT of bad trades..
