Why is it that ALL brokers do not understand true latency?

I am not sure I follow. Internal latency- if the quotes is not the discussion(which is a huge issue for me) then only order entry is left. If they have a good system then from the time your order is generated it should take no more that 15 ms to get to inet for example. Besides that there are...

Why is it that ALL brokers do not understand true latency?

Latency- it can be in a number of places. When you are saying these brokers can be better are you referring to quotes or orders. Any good broker can give you multiple options to decrease the latency. If it is quotes are you referring to NYSE, INET, ARCA, BRUT- all should have different...

    Congratulation Bob Bright ....

definitely a great achievement- especially the fact that he isn't a hedge fund trading billions. Are most of his profits from Pairs? His positions must be HUGE - even if they are tremendously diversified. I wonder what the edge is in this strategy? Is it just probability that stocks...

Best Prop Firm At This Point In Time

ML does not own Echo, they made Pax cut all interests to their broker dealer relationships which were possibly a conflict of interests. Echo is a client of ML. But the important thing is not who owns what but how the traders are treated.

    E Trade Pro

A regular trader can not get on to the ML prop desk- that is a job with a salary and million dollar bonuses. Echo is not owned by ML, the PAX-ML deal has not been consummated yet, and PAX does not guarantee Echo. There are firms that clear ML, use ML systems, space and resources.

May they rest in peace: dead firms

Don, if Bright were to close or decide to exit the business, that 10 million would go to unwinding: paying leases and other creditors..............so its not true that a trader would have to lose his money plus 10 mill. before there is ANY risk. Who knows what type of LIABILITIES a firm has...

Rebate Trading/Certain Prop Firms Reliance on It

The name of the game is to make money. I don't rebate trade but definitely see it as a legitimate way of making money. To knock or call it silly is foolish. It is providing liquidity and tightening alot of the spreads out there. I know traders doing very well rebate trading and heard of...

    3 Monitors For Laptop

I saw a lap-top that can support 2 external screens besides for its own screen giving you a 3 screen setup. The one I saw had a external port (which most have) and a card for the 2nd external screen. I searched retailers but they did not know about it. Anyone know where I can get one or of...

No Bullets....vix At 16 And Collapsing

Alot of the comments made were right on, whether you are a swing trader or day trader. You need to be constantly adapting to new market enviroments and the second your attitude turns negative your toast. Speaking of last week for day-trading, its expected and common when earnings season dies...

    Dual-Processors?

At the height of the day when I am trying to send alot of baskets the cpu usage is at 100% and it takes the computer 5-10 seconds to react to a command. Now I close all other applications before the open and close. Sometimes the application itself freezes and I need to close and reopen it...

    Dual-Processors?

Maybe you can go into it a little more as opposed to giving an unhelpful response?
