How do prop trading firms make moneY?

These days, prop firms make about .0025-.0035 per share traded. With firms like EGM and Andover offering sub-1/2 cent rates, prop firm revenues have come down dramatically in the past 12-18 months.

    No Uptick Rule on ARCA?

I was kinda skeptical too, but they got it right. Just saw the Nasdaq's complaint to the SEC here. http://www.traderbulletin.com/discuss/msgReader$699?mode=day

    No Uptick Rule on ARCA?

Just read on http://www.traderbulletin.com/ that there is no short sale rule on ArcaEx. Is this true??? Is this legit??? If so, I've been wasting money on Nasdaq bullets way too long.

    Scanning Software

Neovest is the best thing I've found for real-time screening. It isn't cheap but I have yet to find a substitute that can screen the types of set-ups Neovest can.

Neovest First Alert, Any other alternatives?

I've tried countless alternatives to First Alert (Insight, StockWatchPro, Radarscreen, Linnsoft, and others) and the result is always the same. Despite its bugginess there really isn't anything (yet) that can compare to First Alert overall. I wish there were. I've got to know several people...

    Searching for a Prop firm

They call Watcher "Windows based" because the program resides in a window. Apart from that, the interface is anything but Windows based. It's the most barebones, tedious, and uncustomizable trading platform I've ever seen...and if you like mice, fuggggetaboutit.

Why Canadian Swifttrade prospers while American firms go bankrupt?

Rebate trading is only one of countless ways to make money in the market--and at a 30% payout it's far from the most profitable method. Unfortunately, by rebate trading being publicized its effectiveness is slowly being eroded. Once this happens, Swifts undiversified business model may go down...

    Trader Assoiciation

At first glance this idea sounds appealing. Problem is, there's a LOT more to consider when choosing a broker than price. Poor software, hardware, communications infrastructure, continuing education and service can cost you way more than what you may save in commissions. Brokers with...

Trade Wall Street's at .005 shr

My lord. Instiquote is even WORSE than VTS (in charting, features, aestethics, and order-entry). The only thing better about it is that Instiquotes quotes are a bit faster. And ESignal is pure retail garbage. It seems like these guys are using low-end front-ends to skimp on costs. Pay for...

Trade Wall Street's at .005 shr

I've heard some absolutely frightening things about CCS's financials, and having met them face-to-face at the Trading Expo, I can't say I'm too impressed. To call them rinky-dink may be kind. I definitely got the impression that they were struggling to survive and my opinion (for what it's...

    ECHOtrade merging with Van Buren

It's looking like this parade needs a little rain. I could be mistaken but the end result of this merger won't be as earth-shattering as the Echo people would like you to believe. Bright and IB already offer all-in commissions and this "tool," well, this tool hasn't made a name for Van Buren...
