    failed market wizards?

I just finished 'Pit Bull' by Marty Schwartz. I noticed it was written in 1998...anyone know what he's up to these days/how he is doing? I'd be curious, since the market has gone through such obvious trials in this short time...

    Innovative Trading Get Real!

Right, the leverage was what I was looking for so I went with Innovative. And yes I paid for the deal.

    Hard Four Easy Eight

Just trying to understand, not knocking...FWIW I think something like this is totally viable, even though i get a feeling others would be quick to discount it. It's all in the conviction, IMO.

    Hard Four Easy Eight

I think I see. I misunderstood your first post I guess. The thing I'm having trouble with is, let's just say the trade goes straight against you and you're never 'in the money' from the get go...where do you exit? In other words, you've decided you need a profit on the trade, but you are...

    Hard Four Easy Eight

So you set symmetric stops, e.g. 7 points up/down?

Do you find it easier to hold on to a profit or a loss?

I see where you're coming from, perfectly valid way to do it too...I guess there's no one right answer. Each has to do what each is comfortable with and hopefully that also works the best!

    Innovative Trading Get Real!

I'm under Innovative. As I said on another thread here, they have been fair and honest with me, and have worked out a good deal for me with more leverage than I was able to find anywhere else. Right now, trading around 250-300,000 shares a month I'm paying 1.2 cents all-in. Payout is 90% of...

Do you find it easier to hold on to a profit or a loss?

inandlong, i hear what you're saying I think it's a common problem. I wonder if you ever scale out of positions; from your post it sounds like maybe not? Admittedly I'm a pretty junior trader, less than 2 years experience. But i've managed to get myself into some real big messes, like the...

Interactive Brokes Traders - Please vote

I couldn't agree more. Uptick rule is useless, and counterproductive. But somehow I don't see them letting go of it that easily....I guess we'll see what happens

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

Quah, I like the fact that this one automatically trades more on higher volume days. Have you thought of tying something in to make it trade more actively in higher volatility markets? Not sure what indicator you would use (vix maybe), but that would be a justified addition wouldn't it?

    TRIN exploding!!!!!!

Actually, I'm not joking. I think it's entirely possible that we bounced on that kind of rumor. I didn't say Briefing was ahead of the story, we all know they're almost always behind the curve. Still, I'd hardly call it a squeeze...but hey sounds like you made a good play there, so I'm not...

    TRIN exploding!!!!!!

Briefing.com says 15:04 ET Equities rebound on rumor dockworkers near settlement; retailers lead recovery Hey, looks like you caught a nice bounce there.

    TRIN exploding!!!!!!

Learning what? An attempt at a bounce is just that, but to me a major squeeze is something a little more serious..
