Realtime... When the market is orderly, the RFQ should be within a pip or dead on. If you have access to Reuters or EBS, you'll see similar quotes. When the market is bouncing around, I generally allow 3 or 4 pips from what I see on the screen. Any more, I just reject the quote.

I haven't noticed any time difference between the 2 platforms. Yes, RFQ with timed quotes for both. Not much on Amex website about FX trading. Just this: http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/page/0,1641,6910,00.asp

My contact is in Canada. It's best you contact your nearest UBS office. Sorry, the web-based e-tool is called FX Web which was also on that link you posted.

I don't know if it is true or not. I heard from others that Saxo and UBS don't accept US clients. If you have the 250k which is minimum account size at UBS, you can probably try Bank of America or Citibank. American Express also have FX accounts for non-US clients but the min account was 1M...

I trade directly using FX Trader. However, most of my trading is using the web-based light version instead of the standalone FX Trader.

    Place your bets!

I recall reading somewhere that if you trade randomly, you will be net positive. I think it is natural for traders to try to pick tops and bottoms which is usually the worse thing you can do. Most traders find it hard to buy high and sell higher. Human nature works against us in trading.

    Global Fx Remote Group, LLC

Why would anyone go prop? You can get all the leverage you ever want. If initial capital is a problem, then you can trade at OANDA where you can trade any size from one unit to 10,000,000 units per ticket, unlike most other market makers that have standard lots of 100,000 or mini lots of...

Thanks for the PM, daliddleguy. Sorry, I can't make it since I'm in Bellingham every Tuesday taking an offshore navigation course.

No, I do NOT wish to talk about UBS with anyone anymore since 99.99% of the posters don't have the funds to open an account with them and I don't wish to waste my time. If you indeed have the necessary funds to open an account, then call them directly and ask them your questions.

    Newbie Question: Choosing Markets

Are you going to trade futures or spot? Use USD/JPY with spot FX and JPY/USD with futures because that is how they are quoted.

A lot of people post about dukascopy, but only FMRS posts about hisbase.com. Four times between Dec 12 and Jan 12. Well, you're the first besides FMRS to mention hisbase. :D

How can you miss the posts on hisbase.com? Haven't you seen the spams on some of the message boards, including this one?
