With the FOMC to report on Wed. what's everyone's opinion on a Iron Condor I have open for May 1235/1245/1340/1350. I'm not concerned about the put side but the call side is what worries me. Normally when I open a IC with less than 15 days to expiration I'll wait until the underlying is 10pts...

The SPX put vertical trade is the first leg of an Iron Condor the other half being the 1375/1380 call side but I can't seem to get filled on that side today.

I haven't spoke to them about it yet, but from what people have said on this forum it seems you need to be doing 10 lots for that rate I only do 5 lots but I'll give it a shot anyway.

Does anyone here use the Ansbacher Index? If so where do you find this data. Does anyone have a spreadsheet they use to calculate this index.

rdemyan, that's way I'm interested in backtesting this plan. I would love to know how this plays out in bull markets, bear markets, times of high volatility & low volatility. It would be interesting to find out when credits dry up to the point that using this strategy is not feasible.

rdemyan, that's just for a spread not a IC I'd want a least 1.50 for a IC. And the spread of .50 is a minimum, ideally I'd like .75

I've been trying to find a way to backtest this strategy, but can't seem to find anyone that has historical data on options going back more than 5 years. Anyone ever backtest this strategy.

rdemyan The lot size I mentioned was hypothetical just stating that I'd increase my position to by half it's original size. If I had a lot size of 2 I'd increase to 3 if it hit my adjustment limit.

I agree that if your far enough OTM you will seldom have to adjust, and I looked into placing OTM trades at around 45 to 50 days to expiration with a 85% probability of success but with low volatility the credits aren't very good (risk/reward) not great, plus it ties up capital in margin for 45...

My risk management plan is to place FOTM credit spreads & IC on the SPX with the intention of taking off the bad side if its within 10 points of my short with more than 20 days to expiration. If I'm trading a 10 lot I'll cover my short side for a loss an look to place a new trade at about 1 SD...

rdemyan I was wondering if you leg into your spreads ie.. (long call first, short call or long put, short put) or do you just enter a vertical spread, it seems you'd get better fills if you leg in one at a time. Any thoughts on this. It would sure help if I could get the rates your...

rdemyan, That's a great rate from ToS. Do you pay a ticket charge with that 1.25/option? If I mention theoptionclub and coach Phil they'll grant me this rate, is there a required account value to get this rate.
