    Does Charity Really "help" anyone?

One of the more convincing arguments against aid is that it undermines the incentives on the ground for the start of local industries/manufacturing, etc. It creates an artificial situation where the locals grow up knowing that learning basic English and the ins/outs of a NGO structure will get...

Can you think out of the box: show that Capitalism REQUIRES Socialism :D

I did not read all the posts, so maybe someone already mentioned this. In the communist manifesto, Marx wrote that capitalism was the sole reason for the great modernization and industrialization that was taking place at the time (1850s) in Western Europe (Germany, England). Socialism, he...

Where are the pivot points ?

Lancer, thanks a lot for those links. To others: I did search the forums, and by "no luck" I mean that I did not find a thread that provided sufficient information and description of pivots. If anyone is aware of more, feel free to post. Thanks

    The thing about "day trading"

Yea, I hope I got my point across, which is that most people strive to do something they love for a living while also getting some monetary compensation. So in that view, trading certainly fulfills that. Bottom line - if you're doing what you like and making buck...who cares? :p

    The thing about "day trading"

Well, I'm not a trader of any sort... more of an aspiring one. So dont quote me on this. However, i think you are forgetting that if the last 100 years showed us anything, it is the failure of societies where people are forced to do things for the common good. People are motivated by one...
