    Do Trendlines work?

Here is a chart from a 3 min Russell 2000 e-mini trade from today. The trend line was broken and then price came back to the trend line that was broken (also the 56EMA). Trend lines are the first critereia that I use. Subsequent indicators need to line up before I take a trade. But almost every...

    Do Trendlines work?

I disagree with the comment that trendlines are BS. I use trendlines as a critical part of my trade strategy and have for years. For the month of Feb, on 95 trades I had a 93% winning + break even trade ratio. Couldn't have done it with out trendlines. Just FYI.

The big question. How do i sort through the mess of the e-minis?

The S& P e-mini are electronically traded as well. There is trememdous liquidity (look at the number of contracts at any on level on your trading dome). Therefore there are many more traders that trade the S&P vs the YM, NQ, or ER. I actually like the fact that the ER trades less contracts as it...

The big question. How do i sort through the mess of the e-minis?

I really like the ER because of the volatility and the bang for your buck but the ICE exchange has purchased the Russell from the CME and the change is happening in Aug so don't know how that is going to affect it. For now, my goal is $600 a day on 1 contract. Love that volatility.

    Stop Losses are for Losers

You know what amazes me is that there as many types of trades and trade management as there are traders. I guess the point to this whole thread is that a trader has to find out what works for him/her and be consistant with that strategy. Its is probably not fair for anyone to comment on another...

    Stop Losses are for Losers

Here here to prologic's logic. If you have traded for any length of time, and read any trading books, taking losses are the REAL key to making money day trading, IMO. R

    Stop Losses are for Losers

I have been day trading since 1998. I first traded stocks. I was up $42,000 one month and lost all of that and another $5,000 the next month. I think that it is imperative to have stops in place in case the trade you are in doesn't work out like you think. I had a day trading friend once that...

    Trading during open today...

Hi Samuelg, Out of curiosity, what index are you trading? I am new to this place and don't know what everyone trades. I trade the Russell 2000 e-mini's and had good success yesterday (2-14-08). If you don't mind me asking, what strategies are you using. Just trying to find out what everyone is...
