My experience with IB is similar ......I got charged $268 for opening an account with a check for multiple stock entries. I was helped signing in by an IB representative. And I in no way did I check for multiple entries as I was exclusively trading futures. They would not let me talk with...

FWIW BR..................I use their Maitrix on GBTC and it is really off a lot of the time. I have had best results on getting assistance by starting with the trade desk and getting them to sign me up for telephone calls from desired dept.

I have gradually come to the understanding that the only book you really need to study............Is Your Own.

Iam not too fancy either so I will have a look at Chart Trader. Or maybe stick with funding at IB and TWS....that I like......However I have recently had other big traders scarying me a little on IB segregated funds. One trader I know lost 1 mil at PGF and he fears IB and TS.

I like TS charting and have used them for many years. It's much, much better than IB charting............but their order bar platform seems complicated and confusing. Therefore I have always placed my trades thru IB as their Platform is very superior. IMO.

Ib is currently owned by Monex a large Japanese Corp. Monex was looking very weak awhile back but in the last few months has gained value with Japanese market rising.

Been with IB for over 10 years. Data is good and nearly all free. Entry platform is easy and effective. Charting is crapola. Everyone now needs to have a heads up regarding these goings on...... http://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/pr6560-13

I am trying to do some research on Silver. IB only has about 6 years of data using SLV. Does anyone know were I can access 20 or 30 years of daily Silver data? Thanks, Ron

I want to find some charting service where I can order price data charts for the 1930's etc. Historical data charts that I can work with by hand. So if anybody out there has a Chart Company name I would very much appreciate it. Thanks, Ron
