    Las Vegas Area Remote Traders

My understanding is that Bright focuses on primarily pairs trading. I am a more directional news-oriented trader. Are there traders like that at Bright? And again, any remote traders not with Bright that follow a similar type strategy, or other successful strategy? Send me PM.

    Las Vegas Area Remote Traders

Any successful remote traders in the Las Vegas area want to meet up and discuss trading strategies, platforms, and/or trading firms? Maybe down the road we can start up an office or executive suite, and leverage our group to get better rates. I have been trading remote out here for the last...

What was your best trade today?

bot 500 BPT at 66 sold them 74.75, shorted 800 at 77, covered 300 at 69 and the rest at 70... all before the opening bell even rang... what a beautiful morning!

    Spectrum Capital Partners

Anybody hear of them, or have an opinion on them? I believe they are affiliated with Schonfeld, and took some of the good WorldCo guys when the ship went down. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Anybody ever heard of...

I guess my question is, how would regulators become aware of this? It would only be if the client reports you right? or would the broker/dealer do something? I know paperwork would be signed by the client indicating that he understands this is day-trading, it is risky, and commissions will be...

    Anybody ever heard of...

Discretionary Day-Trading a client account and charging a commission? I know it used to be done a bit more back in the roaring late 90's, but I never see it posted around here. Let's say someone gives you $100k because he knows you have been a pretty good trader over the years. You then trade...

Is it possible to net $100K a year

Just so someone can give you a response to the original question, I have averaged over $200k/year the last 5 years, and have traded nasdaq almost exclusively (hate the specialist system). And rarely do I ever use over $150k of buying power. I trade at a prop firm and at times may have...

On an un-related note for you Naz traders, do you know if the SIZE function is proactive?? i.e takes out bids and offers and then posts the rest?

    Start-Up Hedge Fund Question

Thank you all for your helpful responses. I didn't realize the accounting expenses would be so high. I think you can minimize start-up costs through certain firms, like Green Trader Tax. Does anyone have experience with them? Also, Don, I do understand your point, and I trade prop right...

    Start-Up Hedge Fund Question

I would put my own money in the fund, but I would rather leave the money in and grow it, as opposed to taking out periodically for regular expenses. By trading separate account, perhaps prop with only 5-10k, I can generate an income separately to suffice, while I let the fund grow (hopefully).

    Start-Up Hedge Fund Question

Let's say I have some investors that want to give me a small amount, say $500k, to trade for them under a typical hedge fund format, 1-2% mgmt fee and 20% of profits. Obviously, that does not translate into big earnings potential for me, unless I return an astronomical number. But I am...
