I would suggest if 7k is 3 months living expenses you move somewhere cheaper - I would suggest Bulgaria / Romania. Takes the pressure off and gives you time to learn. In countries like this life is very cheap and if you are an EU citizen no visa problems!
Odds arnt good for you but if you...
Dont invest it.
If you are young and thinking about money, it's probably important to you. If it is important to you at some point in your life it will probably flow your way if you put a bit of effort in.
I'd spend half on investment books - any suggested are probably great.

Cheers for your reply Hulk - I see your point and agree entirely.
Thing I dont get is why competition / market forces hasnt led to employers who offer the sensible option slowly becoming dominant.

Hi Traderzones
My money wont run out as I am still working. Very secure public sector job (ish). Been doing this since 2002 with no crazy drawdowns. Now it always could happen but with my level of exposure being only 80% invested and in real cheap stocks (lot of small cap) with good...
psytrade - can I profitably short stocks? Not the last 12 months - but thats true of almost everyone.
I did well shorting back in 2002, missed most of 2008 bear as I didnt want to short banks - I find them difficult to value.
Right now easing back to cash a bit - I tend to do that...

Went to Oxford - top enough school. Not sure about top 5% hard to say.
I havent even been attempting to get interviews. Need a...
El Pollo - no not willing to "pay dues" at all really.

I did the IMC - (I am in the UK) I dont know how it is in the US but in the UK an advisory firm is so limited in the way it can advise and how it can charge to me it isnt attractive.
Regulation is so strict...
Between 2006 and 2008 I worked as a buy side analyst at a US asset manager based in London. I passed CFA level 1 with flying colours.
I left as I was sick of 50+ hour weeks and a lousy quality of life - commute / reasonably high pressure.
Since then I have moved up north to do admin for...
