I was looking at getting the vostro 3700 until i saw this thread. Did you ever get rid of the noise? I like having a 17 inch screen. Also looking at Latitude e6510. Screen is only 15.6 but can get resolution of 1920x1080 v 1600x900 in the 17 inch vostro.

Thanks for the info. Do you like your DELL latitude E6500? I am leaning towards dell because I have never had any problems with them and like the 3 year warranty it comes with. I have used a Dell Lattitude D810 for about 5 years now and it was a rock.

Did you try it with an HDMI to DVI adapter? I dont have an HDMI monitor. Also if you do the above set up with one of those USB adapters could you get a third screen going? Thanks for your input Bolimomo.
