    Anyone from Vancouver, Canada?

I'm a trader in Portland, OR looking to move up to Vancouver. Are there any governmental regulations trading U.S. stocks and living in Canada? Will brokerage firms in the U.S. allow trading to Canadian citizens? Someone told me there is alot of "red tape" Thanks

    CyberTrader new commissions Jul 24th

the damn ECN fees and "two minute rule". I trade 3,000-5,000 shares per trade usually, and with a .05 per share ECN fee, that's an extra $15 to $25 per trade on top of the $9.95. Not to mention if I post an offer to sell 5,000 shares, fill on 1,000 , then 5 minutes later have to post a lower...

    Seattle

Just moved to Vancouver, Washington (5 minutes north of Portland). No traffic like Seattle, much cleaner/safer/prettier. And best of all, no sales tax in Oregon, no income tax in Washington. This town/state should be a haven for traders (no taxes and done working at 1PM)

What would you do if 25 yrs old?

    1) Don't get married or have kids for atleast 10 years (or ever). Your independence, especially as a trader, is your greatest asset. Women and children are too expensive. If your a trader, the added pressure of a family may force you to get a "real job". 2) Enjoy life! Have different women...

College Students and Other Future Traders

a private trader. Take the tuition money for college, and use it as tuition money you may lose in the stock market as you learn to trade. A college degree is a $100,000 piece of useless paper, unless you want to be a doctor or dentist. Take that $100,000 and have a well capitalized trading...

at the end of March. Lived there for 3 years through 2002, miss it so much. I'm out in Hood River every couple of weeks or so watching/trying to learn kiteboarding, especially during Gourge Games. I trade for a living full time also, maybe we could meet up for a drink or two in April, let me...
