There was an International Trading Group that was a huge, call-option, boiler room that "sold trades" back around 1985-1989 or so. They had offices in San Diego and also Fairfield, Iowa. A very sleazy outfit and eventually closed down by either the NFA or CFTC, I can't recall.

Looking at the trade alerts track record I see about a 15% drawdown on closed trades. I assume intraday drawdown is a bit higher. Assuming one takes all the advised trades, I think expectations of a minimum of 30% intraday drawdown is reasonable. The service certainly issues a good amount...

The course is free and a nice introduction to pairs trading. A few academic studies are cited and that was wortwhile. All in all, a good freebie. I have read enough comments in this message string to think that PTF is a decent/good piece of software. I haven't gotten around to testing it yet...

I signed up for the free 3 day pairs trading course and received it. I then sent a simple followup question asking if the trades in the track record were actually taken. I never received an answer. Not a good sign.

Asking for timely updates is whinging? I wouldn't even call it whining. It's a legitimate observation.

I see Pairtrade Alerts hasn't updated their trade performance since July 6th. Combine that with spelling mistakes and I think they should be a bit more buttoned up if they're looking for subscribers at $39 a month.

Thanks for Brooks' blog info. Overall, I think the book has a lot of value. As someone else mentioned, his "barbed wire" discussions alond might be worth the price. Additionally, I think the H1 and H2 patterns are also worth studying.

Has anyone noticed how often the bars are misnumbered in Brooks' book? It really gets annoying.
