Why is 85 shares the magic number? Also if you are a professional trader it costs 25 or 40 cents (i can't remember which) per share to execute through NYSE if you send odd lots.

Has anyone else experienced ARCA problems? It seems that nearly everyday something goes wrong. I don't know if it is my software (GR8Trade) or ARCA itself. ISLD on the other hand gives instant executions and cancels.

I'm a new trader at a prop firm and am having a problem with overtrading. I am trying to be patient and wait for a trade to develop, but as I'm sitting in front of the computer and seeing the price move, I feel that I should be in to take advantage of the movement. I will see it move 20 cents...

I remember reading something back in May about the possibility of doing away with the short sale all together on extremely liquid stocks (no I don't have a volume number). I think they were discussing trying it for a few weeks at most. I don't know whatever came of it. Just thought I would share.
