    Mac charting software?

Ya, for real time intraday futures charting in Mac OS, the options are limited. Best of luck in your search.

    Mac charting software?

What is it you want to chart? Interactive Brokers TWS runs on a Mac, but it's got some issues. Among them, you need $10,000 to open an IB account. I've used Macs since the 1980s, love 'em, don't like Windows, but I'm ready to buy a Windows box so I can run Ninja Trader, Sierra Chart, and...

    Interactive Broker's Oversized disejxftn folder

It's possible you have some Windows-specific problem going on. I googled "windows size on disk" and found this page (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315688), which has some info for Windows XP. I didn't read the whole thing (actually just skimmed a bit), but enough to see that that kind of...

    Interactive Broker's Oversized disejxftn folder

Entire Jts folder on my mac is about 31MB; on my hp/windows7 it's 35MB. A gig of anything seems excessive, but I'm just a noob working mostly in sim, and don't see that folder you mention on either machine. What's in it?

IB TWS on an Apple Macbook?

Have been using TWS on Mac for about a year, also on Windows, seems to work about the same. TWS settings are stored in xml, and I've found it easy to move settings from one computer to another--mac to windows no problem. Look under the "File" menu in TWS (I think that's where it is), there are...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Def: The first two small screen shots were from sim. The two larger screen shots that I posted yesterday are from the regular trading account. Can you explain why data in a sim account might be different from data in the trading account, if that is what you are implying? Traders trying to...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Looking again, tho, it seems much of the difference may just be in the "Last size", vs. "Last price"... Hence the old saw, look twice, post once.

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Here are a couple of bigger screen shots taken today of the Time and Sales from yesterday morning. In each case, T & S from 1 minute chart is on the left, 5 minute chart on the right. The first two screen shots I posted earlier were from my sim account. The ones I'm posting today are from...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

moarla: The T & S windows are both for the March YM contract, and the screen shot was made this morning, a few minutes after the time shown in the T & S window. I can't post bigger pictures right now (I'm at work!), but anyone with TWS can check this out. They would have to open 1 minute and 5...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Here it is again, from this morning's trading. T and S from the 1 minute YM chart is on the left, from the 5 minute chart on the right. I have searched around on ET about IB data (even before I started this thread), but haven't found anything that quite explains this. There may be only 5...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Thanks for the reply, tradelink. What you say makes sense. I've read some things on ET about IB data, but I haven't been able to find anything on the IB website about sampling or subsetting. Can anyone share a link to IB documentation about how data for last price is sampled or downgraded...

IB TWS time and sales data discrepancy

Noticed what seems like odd behavior in TWS time and sales windows: two windows for the same instrument show different information. The windows are for 1 minute and 5 minute charts for March YM. I'll try and attach a screen shot. The shot was taken right when I noticed the difference on Feb. 17...

    NetBook+Ninjatrader

Ninjatrader demo ran fine on my HP mini 110 with 1 gig of ram. I was only using 1 or two charts, and never a problem. TWS from IB also worked okay. The small screen is a pain, though. I got the netbook for traveling, but next time I'll just get a laptop, preferably with support for a second monitor.
