    Epic Multi-Decade H&S Incoming?

Has anyone looked at the 20-year chart recently? What do you think?

Yeah but if you know SmallTalk you can easily learn Objective C and code for Macs! Everybody loves Apple! :D

    Best Programming Language

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I meant VB and any derivations of VB. It may be good for a non-programmer to interface with certain applications, but I don't know of any formal programming educational programs that encourage the use of VB. I'm a programmer at my day job...

    Best Programming Language

C++ is definately the most widely used and offers the most flexibility, but since you have no formal programming background it is going to be the most difficult to learn. Java and C# are basically on the same level, but of the two I'd pick Java over C# because it's more widely used. VBA...

    FX Vs. Stocks, Futures, Etc....

Depends on your time frame, short term theta isn't a big risk. Long term, you can take advantage of the accelerated time decay of front month options by buying long term protection and opening long theta positions front-month to hedge the decay on the long term position. It does take a lot...

    FX Vs. Stocks, Futures, Etc....

If you don't like time risk you can hedge your theta with a butterfly or by selling an iron condor. The beauty is that you can move the risk to where you want it. You aren't ever going to trade without taking any risk, it has to go somewhere. I agree options are less liquid (even that...

    FX Vs. Stocks, Futures, Etc....

Options prevent losses resulting from the price gapping past your stop point. Your risk is built into the trade up front, you don't have to rely on another order being filled to manage risk on the backside. The fixed risk also prevents catastrophic losses from single stocks going to 0.

    FX Vs. Stocks, Futures, Etc....

I found FX harder to trade than other instruments. People like to mention leverage, but that's a two-sided blade. If brokers make that much leverage available to you, it's likely you'll use it all on a trade gone wrong unless you are among the most disciplined of traders. I started in...

Pulling an all-nigther for this EUR/USD trade

If you have such a good "feeling" about this trade, why would you need to pull an all-nighter? Just go to sleep and wake up tomorrow to monster profits :D .

    Stops

This is very important. Make sure you have enough of a buffer between the support/resistance level and your stop. During low liquidity times, other traders may try to make a run on the areas where they think there are a large number of stops. The market will move to hit all the stops, then...

The high cost of poverty: Why the poor pay more

Luck does not play that big a role in people's lives. I think Angrycat said it best, It's people who believe that some force out of their control, like luck, is the source of all their problems who fail. (Just like the traders who blame the market makers/brokers/PPT for chasing their stops...

The high cost of poverty: Why the poor pay more

Reverse discrimination does exist. I got massive grants from a private college because I am Hispanic and grew up poor. Taking into account scholarships and other grants I only had to take loans for about 20% of my education. I do not think the poor are a problem or anything is their...

The high cost of poverty: Why the poor pay more

I wasn't being racist or ignorant. I'm speaking from experience, I've seen both sides of the coin. Sure the poor may have been dealt a bad hand to begin with (relative to American standards), but that is no excuse to continue the cycle. There are plenty of opportunities for the poor to get...
