IB account protection for non-US customers

Probably we here in Europe have to address this question to Interactive Brokers (U.K.).

Problem after the integration of STP - TWS

After the integration of STP and TWS I am not able to receive any real time data. I have done everything possible to solve the problem, without any result. I also tried to login from other PCs, but it was always not possible to receive real time data. The strange thing is that when I log in...

    Just $10 a trade...

Def, Will IB implement bundled orders for Canadian stocks? I’m currently active in junior mining companies having a share price from 0.5 to 2.0$, and every position is > 20.000 shares. I like IB but 0.5% commissions for those trades are too much. Tnx

Are IB accounts protected from fraud and unauthorized access?

Def, Thank you for the reply. For every feature we vote its implementations represent a cost for IB. However, my understanding is that IB provides us the poll possibility to help the company to improve and remain competitive. Did I miss something? If not, why IB’s representatives are...

Are IB accounts protected from fraud and unauthorized access?

If you, the IB customer, think that IB should offer you the “Fraud Protection Guarantee” like many other on-line brokerage firms already offer to their customers, you may vote at IB’s Features Poll, under “Account Management”, Poll ID # 2396...

    Moving offshore

If you are an investor and not a trader Greece is OK. You’d have to pay “only” 0,15% taxes for your transactions. No other taxes for your investment.

If IB customers think that IB should offer them the “Fraud Protection Guarantee” like many other on-line brokerage firms already do to their customers, can vote at IB’s features poll under Account Management ID 2212. Thanks

IB Salvatore, You can realize that many of your customers have severe security concerns by using IB and TWS. For sure, IB knows the security risks; and for sure, IB also knows that any effort your customers can make to shield their tradestations with HW and SW routers anti-spyware...

I have to apologize. As a non native English speaker (being in Europe) reading trough my resent posts I realized some language errors. In spite of those errors I hope the meaning of what I wrote can be understood without any difficulty. Sorry again.

OldTrader, I also feel more confident by using routers, hardware and software firewalls, antivirus and anti-spyware software and whatever is needed to REDUCE the risk. But, because of my profession, I know (and of course many others on this forum) that the risk of having your computer hijacked...

No ‘complete fraud protection’ but ‘complete fraud protection guarantee’ to covers customer’s damage. I agree it would have an additional cost for the brokerage firm. However, internet fraud is nowadays a sever problem for secure transactions. And if internet brokerage firms want...

    IB Secure Device

I think local_crusher provided already the explanation by writing: [/B] API access implements a lot of exotic features. The problem is that it seams to leave the backdoor open. Having saying that, I fully support any effort IB does to improve security.

I think you are right. The only solution which would protect IB customers would be the ‘Complete Fraud Protection’ as E-Trade has already introduced. I’m a IB customer since 2002 and I would expect from the leading firm to provide the optimum solution. Otherwise….
